Leonie Graham, a Lower East Side resident, worked as a live-in nanny for 15 years until she was suddenly let go during the summer. As the nation suffers through its worst economic recession in decades, an increasing number of New Yorkers, like Mrs. Graham, are finding themselves unemployed.
