I LOVE East Village

The Local East Village visits Girls Prep Lower East Side Elementary, where students have been defying conventional wisdom about the link between income and academic performance: almost three-quarters of the students are from low-income backgrounds and test scores at the school have regularly exceeded the state median the past few years.
