East Village Farm and Grocery store has been the neighbor’s favorite deli and grocery store at the corner of 4th Street and Second Avenue, Fourth Art Block, for years now. Fresh products and friendly staffs always welcomes the customers to meet their needs.

Like ‘the bad things happen to good people,’ the two alarm fire broke out around 4am on January 4th 2011 at the grocery with strong smoke. 7 residents in the building reported to be suffering from the smoke inhalation yet nothing life threatening.

The local business owners offered the shelter for residents escaped from the building and people were in shock to witness what had happened to this favored place in the beginning of New Year.

The cause of fire is not yet known and under investigation and we, as neighbors, hope for the quick recovery…
