Yesterday I randomly went to the MOMA and checked out the Andy Warhol exhibit on the top floor and walked in on an amazing solo violin performance by Hanh-Bin, a young violnist so well-renowned that he has a $500,000 violin he once left in a cab.
It was an incredible performance, made more surreal by being in the middle of the Warhol exhibit, with the giant faces of Warhol’s subjects on the walls seemingly reacting to Hanh-Bin’s skill.
Hanh-Bin plays again at 4:30 PM (Sunday, March 6, 2011) and returns on the 18th,19th, and 20th of March. He walks around during his half-hour set, so if you don’t get to sit up close when he first shows up, stay back and follow him as he moves to his next spot.
