HOWL! Arts Project:
With a howl, a song, a slam, a dance, a film or an evening of theatrical madness, HOWL! Arts Project (H.A.P.) is a call to arms across time and across boundaries of culture, taste, and creative expression. In a world connected like never before, the East Village is a symbol of untamed creativity and a place to engage and build a strong global arts community. A month-long series of non-stop music, film, theater, performance art, burlesque and drag entertainment, H.A.P. was conceived as a vehicle to benefit HELP (Howl! Emergency Life Project), the newly established emergency assistance fund supporting East Village artists of all disciplines, which also provides all services offered by parent administrator: The Actors Fund.. H.A.P. puts the “hap” in “happening” with an electrifying series of ticketed events taking place at a variety of downtown venues throughout September. In an ongoing effort to support HELP, H.A.P. presents wildly diverse programming at affordable costs to the whole family. Artists of all disciplines impart talent and pleasure galore as they showcase developing and finished work in traditional and experimental theatrical productions, gallery offerings and more.
The purpose of Howl Arts Inc. is to perpetuate, coordinate and support the arts and creative industries with exhibitions and documentation. We aim to improve the daily lives of artists and members of the creative community and to enhance and create opportunities for artists in the production of their work. The Howl! Festival uses poetry, music, dance, theater, fine art, popular culture, in fact all means of artistic expression and new technologies to engage and incite people to connect with the arts. We give young people and the public the tools to join in the creative process and take action to experience first hand the high value of a creative life. The public objective is to provide access to the arts for individuals who otherwise would not be able to afford access to the arts. Howl Arts Inc. produces all HOWL! endeavors including HOWL! Festival and HOWL! Arts Project.

HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU CREATE A HOWL FESTIVAL WITHOUT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING THE INSPIRATION, THE GREAT ALLEN GINSBERG AND HIS POEM AND POETRY????
