Three years ago, SB D Gallery curated and directed the first exhibition that stopped the life of Twin Towers as of September 10th, 2001, in effort to heal from the wound by bringing back the happy memories of Twin Towers before the terror.
As a closure, “Pre911:Twin Towers Once Stood” will have the finale this year marching with a decade of struggles, and will present your messages in forms of arts;Photographs, drawings, paintings, poems, sculptures, mixed media… without limited to the medium, we will share our soul and spirit united as one, the human.
All 75 heartfelt international artists’ will be participating with their art works to be displayed on HD screens, and also multiple fabric banners will be printed with images and messages to be hung at our next door gallery. Guests will walk through these ceiling high long banners to experience the memories of being inside or right in front of buildings.
‘Pre911:Twin Towers Once Stood’ book will be published as well which is for sale for $50. All the profit will be donated to 911 Families Association. You may purchase the book online at SB D Shop. Click here to purchase.
The exhibition will open on September 11, 2011, at 4pm and runs for two weeks.
My hope, as a resident living in downtown of Manhattan for 21 years and at the same time, curator and director of SB D Gallery, is to accept the life that is beyond the control of morality, and go on with the life finding comfort leaning on each others. It will NEVER be forgotten, nor healed, and that sharp stabbing into our souls on that specific day of terror will be remembered with the deep scar.

The Memorial Service for Kevin Wendall aka FA-Q is set for January 2, 2010, from 4-7pm. Below is the personal letter from Angela, the finance who stood by Kevin throughout his illness with such love and dedication.
| Dearest Friends and Family
As some of you may already know, Kevin Wendall aka FA-Q, passed away on Nov 15th. For surgery that was supposed to bring him home in 3 days, he spent 2+ years recovering from complications after the procedure. I want to thank everyone for all the phone calls, emails and messages of support throughout these last few years. For reasons I can’t understand, it comforts me to know that the man who means everything to me, also means something to you. With the help of Toyo, Dennis and Kazuko, I will be putting together a memorial for Kevin, to be held on Sunday Jan. 2, 2011 from 4pm-7pm. Please come and share your stories or pictures of him to put on the wall. We could all use a good laugh, and Kevin was always the first to make that happen, either by telling nonsensical stories or by the goofy faces he loved to make. Join us at: 128 Rivington St NY, NY 10002 Sun. Jan 2, 2011 If you need more info, you can also email me at angela.wu93@gmail.com -Angela |
